Past Roundtable Discussions

The Lily, in partnership with the United Board, hosted "Learning from the Future, Leading For the Future: A Roundtable Discussion on the Futures of Educational Leadership" last March 5, 2025.

This roundtable discussion highlighted the crucial role of futures thinking and strategic foresight in a world with continuous disruption in education, technology and society.

The special guest speaker is Ms. Marite Irvine, Executive Director of the Ateneo Research Institute for the Futures of Education at the Gokongwei Brothers School of Education and Learning Design at Ateneo de Manila University. 

She is joined by Mr. Gerson Abesamis , Director of the Futures Education Office of the Department of Education, Dr. Lizan Perante-Calina, Dean of the Graduate School of Public and Development Management at the Development Academy of the Philippines, and Dr. Nur Anisah Abdullah, Associate Professor of the College of Education at Tamkang University, Taiwan.

The Lily and the ASEAN University Network on Ecological Education and Culture (AUN-EEC), in partnership with the United Board, hosted "Leadership Challenges in Implementing ESD in Asia: A Roundtable Discussion on Education for Sustainable Development" on November 5, 2024.

This roundtable discussion engaged education and business stakeholders from various parts of Asia and the world in discourse on the relevance of ESD in our world today. 

The special guest speaker is Professor Choon Heng Leong, former Director of the Education and Social Progress Programme at the Jeffrey Cheah Institute on Southeast Asia at Sunway University. 

He is joined by Mr. Andoni Albert, Chief Executive Officer of Kation Technologies Inc., and Ms. Katherine Custodio, Executive Director of World Wildlife Fund of the Philippines.

The Lily, in partnership with the United Board, held its Inaugural Roundtable Discussion on Asian Higher Education, with the theme "Lifelong Education for a Fast-Changing World."

The special guest speaker was Professor Tan Eng Chye, President of the National University of Singapore.

The event was held at the Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines on November 21, 2023. The event was also live-streamed on YouTube and Zoom.

The panelists for the event included Dr. Cynthia Rose B. Bautista, former Commissioner for the Commission on Higher Education; Br. Bernard Oca, FSC, President of the De La Salle University; Dr. Paul Wilson, President of the Madras Christian College; Dr. -Ing, Wiyatiningsih, Rector of the Duta Wacana Christian University; and Fr. Roberto C. Yap, SJ, President of the Ateneo de Manila University.
